Here key looks from the city Seoul street style at it's best. photo credits: Highsnobiety and Hypebeast.com
1 DIOR AW 17It's really hard to say this but the truth, this was not Maria Grazia's best collection, well we can't really judge because this is just her second collection (clearly we are judging lol.). However, looking back from her first collection to now we clearly see the difference. from the different shades of blue to materials used and too Denim how and when did this happen Dior and Denim not what you would imagine,to her defence it could be her bringing her aesthetic with what fits the House of Dior. But really, lets get really the materials looked cheap and not what you would expect from a luxury house it felt Zara-ish (if that makes any sense). This wasn't the worst collection of the season but of course we get how super fashion journalist making high praises with this collection all in the name of ad sponsorship, fashion is a sad industry there really is no accountability we clearly see this collection isn't the best and as fashion informers it's our duty to make this issues known. But guess what guys this collection is going to sell out so fast at least that's the bright side to this and of course the accessories were beautiful. We love MARIA GRAZIA and we want to see her do well ,s he has accomplished a lot. 2 WHERE IS VERSACE?When we thought there would be one brand that would not give two shits about the trends in fashion and would stay real to their evolution. Well Donatella Versace proved us wrong (This is when I need the crying emoji) the collection was beautiful but really over the past two seasons Donatella has experimented with the sports luxe trend and honestly it went well got good response for experimenting in that angle but the AW17 collection just felt too cliche. I never thought I would say this again this feels like a collection from Zara. Well it's best to say this, please we need our sexy, bossed up Versace woman, with skimpy sexy gowns embodied with the medusa head around. Where on earth is Versace? 3 DID KARL LOSE HIS COOL (CHANEL)Probably the most iconic fashion show this season and of course Chanel never disappoints to pull off a spectacle with the amazing Chanel rocket making staged at the usual location the Grand Palais. The collection obviously made references to special space mission from crystal boots paired with the iconic Chanel tweed jacket and layering of new accessories, that one could associate with a space survival kit. The collection made an amazing themed debut of course with Karl's brilliance, this was probably the moment you wished a fashion collection got more video feeds on Instagram, in this case it was so different, apparently the star of the show was not Karl or his collection but the space ship took over everything from Instagram to our very own recollection of what we thought of the clothes. We wouldn't blame fashion journalist for not writing to much about the clothes but really the spaceship definitely out staged the clothes Okay New York fashion week is over lots of politics and very much reflecting on how styling and attention to maximalism becoming every designer's norm. We are counting some of best looks and trends that we kind of all saw coming. 1 T-SHIRTS AND MESSAGESNot all off fashion week took these statement shirts on board but no matter what it's like we still can't escape Donald Trump effect and the sad reality of life. Prabal Gurung showed a lot of politically issues from immigrants to race, feminism and embracing different body types. Had a little miss on some quotation which then rises the questions on far fashion would go with the political threads and genuine is it. PLAYING WITH ORNAMENTS.Although reflecting on the past in fashion shows must be exhausting desginers trying to bring the 90's and 80's back to life but this time it really isn't about the clothes, NYFW designers tried using captivating roots with huge ornaments from necklaces to adorned bracelets although using jewelries is nothing new but playing with them and making them stand out in an outfit reasonably styled could really change a look. 3 COLOURS THAT SPEAKLet's make this short for you guys we might be wearing more colours for next Autumn winter season, and yes thank God! So much colours than the traditional neutrals and black and white. A favourite bold colour statements. SHEARING JACKETSA trend that pre predominately took the whole of fashion week from last season to this season and it really is prevalent on the street style totally took the entire New york space into commercial awareness of what we really are diggin this season. Designers got the chase, but shearling jackets got a little twist from all over the runway. SUITS FOR THE LADIES!However trends coincide it never too late to bring out maximalist in us, gender fluidity has been the norm core discussion of fashion right now well well at least everything for from the runway becoming more beautiful rather than the minimal and tomboy girly look that would sell. This season sees the merge of both worlds together suits with pretty dresses it's like we are not letting go of any! Very feminine suits from the runway. One of the most exciting fashion week report on Madeinfashion.com, I really love the diversity of ideas of different designers from different parts of the world and it so amazing to see how people can be influenced in fashion from street style to the decadence of front rows at fashion week, and of course the after parties. In Lagos fashion week known as the Lagos fashion and Design week showcased the attendance of different African designers and the display of African Luxury. From David Tlale of South Africa and Loza from Ivory Coast ,it made it seem like we might be creating the mega fashion hub for Africa. Collections from designers filled with colours obviously, surprising silhouettes and shapes and structures that have not been necessarily embraced in that part of the world in terms of fashion, but as the younger Africans become more aware it may be that nothing can be surprising at this point as Africa's fashion is getting it's hype within the industry gradually. So far the era of cool also known as the Vetement effect or however you want may want to label it. It's still undeniable that most references from the Vetements are verily inspired by what is called the cool factor which made dressing not necessarily the most important issues during the post soviet era for youngsters at that time, now back in 2016 the Russians took this to their advantage and generating inspired collections from Vetements and Gosha notably as a special voice in Fashion. Although, the focus will be on these two designers giving a replica to the fashion world their statement to what clothing means and why their emphasis is so much on their roots as Russians or being affected during the post soviet era it's only important to make an exciting trip to Russia and find out what is happening in the fashion scene on Russia soil, and get fist hand experience not an imported idea. Here are exciting highlights from the Mercedes Benz Fashion week Russia #madeinRussia! THE BEST FROM RUSSIAN DESIGNERS.A little countdown from all our favourite runway collections from. Although this reignited city got its buzz from the new maximal approach which seems to be very evident in fashion nowadays. Thanks to the master mind Alessandro Michele whose fervent collection would seem like the answers to all of Gucci's problems. His aesthetic reaches the style of every woman's wardrobe where pieces from each look can be dissected to match an outfit of the day, now maybe some other designers so this as the marketing approach. Designers like Peter Dundas of Roberto Cavalli may have given his own twist in his atheistic although in line with the maximal approach, Roberto Cavalli's SS17 gave full references to the 60'S Rock n' Roll, with flare Bohemian vibes to the collection. So many designers may have channeled in their inner Gucci from somewhere in different forms but not all may have given into this modern approach. Jil Sander a household name may have given it turbulence as company for years subjecting into true brand aesthetic and heritage of the house. Jil Sander SS17 collection by Rodolfo Paglialunga paid another homage to the 1980's but this time gave a different view in his collection. High shoulders and stripe sleeves and pants crotches that dropped to the knee. View the full collection below. Fashion followers can testify to the new change that brings a lot of excitement to Milan. Now the hit shows are not just about Fendi, Prada and Versace. This year's Milan fashion week felt very intricate, it felt like everyone channelled in their inner Gucci, From Roberto Cavali's retro punk 90's collection, to Dsquared exaggerated obsession of animal prints and your seventies trend of puff shoulders. It seems the Gucci effect sprung through every designer in some ways, paying a lot of respect to fashion in the 90's. Find out our best looks from the runway Milan Fashion week. Nothing soothes our minds more than fashion week with a little bit of edge, and of course am talking about street style. London style has predominately given everything from your ballerina inspired outfit and to the chic, punk hipster effect. Unlike other fashion capitals London style varies with lust of energy from the cool kids of Saint Martins to your very own Vogue editors. Is that just a thing for London with a multicultural effect where everyone from the highs to the hopefuls take in from the individuality, and express it on the streets without knowing who is who or it's probably just a London thing. Here the best of the best from the runway shows from the streets. Photo credit; Vogue.com
Hannah Weiland's collection for Shrimps SS17 makes a different hit of an 18th century inspired collection, the Victorian trend from other designers gave us a little of Queen Victoria. Shrimps spring summer collection lifted the London spirit of individuality, a collection that pretty much felt like everyone' little hits in their wardrobe, the textured converse that everyone can literally relate to with an everyday style, playful hits that we all are in love with it. The pearly pinks and Gaugin girls, with bows and the signature gingham fur. A lovely collection that speaks of Britain's fashion and why the Young continue to dominate in London.
